More adhesion Barrier News

Genizon BioSciences has entered a license and collaboration agreement with Pfizer Inc. for diagnostic rights to Genizon's discovery programs in Alzheimer's disease, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and endometriosis. Genizon retains therapeutic rights. The collaboration involves discovery of diagnostic markers from three ongoing genome-wide association studies of the Quebec Founder Population using Genizon's proprietary technology platform. Under the terms of the agreement, Pfizer will pay Genizon upfront license fees and funding for research on genetic variations associated with diseases. Pfizer will also purchase an equity stake in Genizon subject to certain closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed. Read the press release.


Synovis Life Technologies, Inc (St. Paul, MN) is reporting that its Veritas® Collagen Matrix technology is now indicated for prevention of post-operative adhesions. The company's remodelable collagen material, on the market since 2000, has been used for a variety of applications, from gastric bypass and thoracic surgeries to pelvic floor reconstructions.
